Obituary: Tualatin Valley News, November 12, 1915 Mrs. Mary J. Fletcher Passes
Mrs. Mary J. Fletcher, until recently a resident of Sherwood, died at Seattle and the body was brought here for burial Wednesday. Death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jos. Epler, and was due to cancerous growth. Some months ago Mrs. Fletcher underwent an operation at Portland hospital, but attending physicians held little hope for recovery.
The funeral was held in local Congregational Church Wednesday, Rev. J. Cowman and Undertaker M. E. Buck having charge of the services. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, David Fletcher; two daughters, Mrs. Jos. Epler, and Miss Zealous Fletcher, of Seattle; four sons, William, Walter and Damon, of Sherwood, and Kenneth of Seattle. Besides these relatives and host of friends in and about Sherwood will mourn her taking away.
