He married Naoma Pancake on August 21, 1869 in Noble County, Indiana. Naoma died there in 1906 and is buried in Oak Park Cemetery near Ligonier, Indiana. By 1910 Ignatius had moved in with his son Ernest and his family in Oregon. Their two other children were Charles Joseph Fosner and Harry Wright Fosner.
The name FOSNER was spelled with an L in it when the family was in Indiana. It appears in the census records as FALSONER, FOLSNOMER and FOLSNOR. In a transcript of the Noble County marriage records Ignatius's name is spelled "Egnez Falconer". Egnez is probably the Austrian version of his name and Ignatius the anglicized version.

Obituary: Sherwood Valley News, June 16, 1927 Ignatius Fosner, 90 Passes
Ignatius Fosner, affectionately called Grandpa Fosner, died at the home of his son, Dr. E. A. Fosner, in this city Friday night of infirmities incident to old age. He had always enjoyed good health until about five months ago when he suffered a physical breakdown and had since gradually lost strength until death came.
Grandpa Fosner was born in Austria in 1837 and departed this life May 10, 1927, aged 90 years and 3 months. He came, to American in 1866 and was married in 1870, He had 3 sons--Dr. E. A. Fosner, of Sherwood, and 2 sons in Sacramento, California.
Grandpa lived in Sherwood about ?? years, and although being nearly blind from cataracts he was able to go about, having good health until his last sickness which confined him to his bed for more than ? months, During this illness he was very patient and endured suffering without complaint. He trusted in his Savior and constantly called on the name of the Lord to help him bear the trials of life. And those who attended him at his bedside believe he has gone to his heavenly reward.
He was a kind father and an upright citizen, and he will be missed by his neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church , of which he was a member and interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
