Family Contribution:

Born in Bavaria in 1856.  Emigrated from Germany to Canada (1866) and Oregon in 1872. First settled in Yamhill County. Parents of Henry, Lena, Mattie, and Anna.  All except Anna buried at Pleasant View. Anna married into the Baker family, marrying Raymond (son of Alison & Florence) who lived on the adjoining farm. Anna was the eldest child (b. 7/31/1892 and d. 1947. Buried in Canby w/ husband Raymond, and three children: Pearl, Opal and Harold).

Christian & Mary built a modern, new home (c. 1908-10) which still stands on SW Bell Road and east of Baker Road intersection. Christian died from severe burns suffered during a fire accident while burning brush and briars alone in a remote part of the farm.

Henry took over the family farm, marrying Evelyn. No children. The "new," Reissner barn collapsed in the Columbus Day storm in 1962. Remnants of the old apple orchard and their "new" filbert orchard remain. Henry died of a heart attack in the barn while pitching hay to the dairy cows. Evelyn sold the farm and moved away.
