Nola Maxine Baker

Native Oregonian Nola Maxine Baker, 94, died March 15 in a Wilsonville care facility. She was born Nola Maxine Boston Dec 2, 1910, in Sherwood, where she was reared and educated. She was a proud tribal elder of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde.
In 1929 she married Ralph Baker in Garibaldi, and they made their home in Sherwood, where they farmed for many years. During that time she worked in the furniture industry as a furniture builder, retiring from BP Johns Furniture Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 1989 and by one son. Survivors include son Ralph of Tigard; daughters Barbara Davenport of Tigard and Candyce Senner of West Linn; plus 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pastor Ken Vanden Hoeck officiated at a memorial service Saturday in Attrell's Sherwood Funeral Chapel. Private committal was at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sherwood.
